Our Struggle for Expansion?

Recently I was listening to an interesting part of one of the Abraham-Hicks recordings. A man took place on the hot seat and expressed a rather cynical view of our struggle in our lives. In short he said that Source Energy / Consciousness / Spirit, or whatever name you label it with, expands as a result of our increased contrast and therefor struggle we face in our lives. Therefor it would benefit from an increase in struggling creating bigger contrast. An interesting view, and at the time I listened to the recording I kind of resonated with the words of this cynical man. But somehow I could not give it a rest and shortly after I clarified it enough for me to share it with you.

For people unfamiliar with the work of Abraham-Hicks I want to lay out a basis for you to understand (some if it explained here). You are an extension of Source Energy (or Consciousness) physically focused in this time-space reality. During your life you will encounter contrast, things you want and things you do not want, both on each end of a stick. It’s your job to focus on the wanted end of the stick and allow it to manifest in your life. But before anything manifests the larger part of you, which is still Source Energy, already becomes that expanded You by your focus on it. In this context, the greater the wanting or desire, the greater the expansion of Source Energy. In order for you to experience the manifestation you will have to shift your state of being to what the larger part of you already became.

In the context of the basis explained (I realize it is a real small basis, but you will feel if it resonates with you or not), the cynical man shared his perspective. The greater the contrast (and thus struggle) the greater the expansion of Source Energy. And therefor Source Energy benefits from our struggle in this physically focused time-space reality. Although this reasoning follows some logic, it is a little out-of-whack. It is true (at least in my experience) that the larger the contrast the greater the expansion. How do I know? Well, if you overcome a great deal of struggle in your life, you feel so much more expanded then with little things. But in this also lies the flaw of the cynical man’s reasoning. If you do NOT overcome this struggle, if you do not manage to manifest what you really want, expansion stops. There is only so much struggle a person can handle.

Expansion will only continue when we find a new place from which we have new desires. And the better we get in manifesting our desires and create the life we want to live, the greater the speed of this expansion will be. Contrast will not be seen as struggle anymore, but as an opportunity to grow, fine-tune and become what our larger part already became instantly when the new desire was born within us.

I wish you all the contrast you need to expand beyond your wildest dreams.

Light of My Life

Today I was introduced to some of the work of Barry Long. It started with a short conversation on twitter, and @juwil sent me a link to an excerpt of the “Life is Joy” DVD. After quickly updating myself with who Barry Long was I watched the excerpt (see below) and I fell instantly in love with Barry’s words. These words really resonate within me.

I have to tell you what is real Now…

We tend to refer to old dogmas whether of Christian, Hindu or Buddhist nature. Those stories were written in the spirit of that time. We can’t just apply them into our time. That’s ridiculous. Yes, there are a lot of basic truths in them, but we have to tell them from the perspective of the Now.

I can’t tell you anything except what you know…

This is about the innate knowledge that we all have. It’s not about knowledge we acquire by reading books. As we are the experience of consciousness, which holds all possible knowledge, we innately know everything. We just need to be reminded of that. When you feel something resonating within you it is not newly acquired knowledge, but it is innate knowledge. It feels like being awakened from within. It feels like love.

What you are is life, and life is immortal…You are the light behind life, you are the light of consciousness…

And that is exactly what I mean by “I am God” and “I am God experiencing me“. We all are consciousness experiencing us. We are born with the same knowledge and understanding of life, after which we receive layers and layers of believe systems from our environment putting our innate knowledge to sleep. And then suddenly it awakens again…

Every Action is a Selfish One

Last year I wrote “Being selfish is good as long as the intention is selfish.”, and I still hold this as my truth. Today I want to take it a step further by stating that every action is a selfish one. What I mean by that is that everything you do is to somehow feel better in that moment, whether the action is aligned with your true self or not.

It underlines our preferred and natural state of being which is to feel good. We act upon this knowing all day, every day. If we feel shy or ashamed we want to run and hide because we know this will make us feel better in that moment and more importantly in that state of being. If we are truly happy and feel good we choose our actions according to that moment and state of being. But despite which end of the stick you are in this moment, you choose your actions to make you feel better.

This idea that every action is to improve oneself might sound contradictory to what people might tell you. They explain that everything they do is out of pure unselfishness. They even might want you to believe that they have sacrificed their own well-being to serve others out of an act of love. But the underlying intention of all of that is to feel better. And there is nothing wrong with that, except to deny it.

I understand that if someone is in a place of disempowerment that their actions can be harmful to others. But the people who feel hurt – the victims - are in a vibrational place which match the vibration of disempowerment, otherwise they wouldn’t get – or feel – hurt. I know this is hard to understand for some of you, but both victim and offender attract each other in their lives, and all of their actions are selfish ones trying to make them feel better in that moment and that state of being.

If you recognize that everything you do is an act of selfishness, you are in a position to take responsibility and be in a state of being which allows you to align your actions first with the loving being that you are. You will be able to follow your bliss, be your true self, enjoy your vortex and be the example for others who will be seeing you as the bright shining light in their life. You will be the catalyst for them and allow them to expand and follow their bliss.

Enjoy your selfish actions but act from a place of love.

Today I redefined God

I don’t see God as the old grey man with the wise look on his face watching down on us. In other words, I don’t perceive God as men has defined ‘Him’ for centuries. Furthermore, I was not raised according to any religion, but by the best effort of my parents. I have explained in an earlier post that when I was ‘young’ I was thinking in very black and white images. And I think I considered myself an atheist. But over the years I got inspired by The Secret, the Law of Attraction, Abraham-Hicks, Deepak Chopra, Bashar and many others. The level of inspiration I get in my life today is so much greater by my ability to allow.

During this process of change I started to think about the ‘concept’ of God. I deliberately let go of any current image or association I had with the word God. This sounds easier then done, as I was indoctrinated with the different flavors of God. I can not say I was able to fully let go, but enough to allow a definition come to me. And today, while being silly on Twitter I read some tweets of @ihatequotes:

You say: “It’s impossible.” God says: “All things are possible.” #ihatequotes
You say: “I can’t do it.” God says: “You can do all things.” #ihatequotes
You say: “I am always worried and frustrated.” God says: “Cast all your cares on me.” #ihatequotes
You say: “I feel all alone.” God says: “I will never leave you or forsake you.” #ihatequotes
You say: “I am not able.” God says: “I am able.”#ihatequotes
You say: “Nobody really loves me.” God says: “I love you.” #ihatequotes
The lesson: “Have faith! Believe, God is there just for you.” Have a nice day! #ihatequotes

And it just hit me:

I had redefined God. Enjoying that feeling for a while I came with the ‘final’ definition:

“I am God experiencing me.”

I want to to share some of the most important basics of how I ended up with this definition. I think most were triggered by Deepak Chopra:

God = Source Energy = The Highest Self
God is the source of consciousness, or even consciousness itself, ‘it’ doesn’t experience itself
God is the creative energy and creates by experiencing
God experiences by focusing energy. You are focused energy in this time-space reality

As I mentioned before, every definition is personal, as it is defined by our experience, our point of view.

Stop bashing your ego!

The human race loves the blame game. Something or someone has to be blamed for the shadows in us. For centuries we had the devil to blame. The red guy with the two pointy horns and the tail with an arrow-shaped tip. He represented our dark side, and for many of us still does. With the upcoming discovery of our true Self we realized the horny red man actually does not really exist. But if we can not blame him, who will represent our shadows, our dark side? As god and the devil are true opposites it is evident we need something that is the opposite of our higher self. Well, that is easy: our lower self. Or even better: our local self, the ego.

The spiritual growth of the human race is something I truly cherish. I believe this will only accelerate in the coming years and we will be more connected as individually unique as ever before. But we need to stop bashing the ego, our ego. Why are we still playing that blame game? If you truly understand the concept of the higher self, which represents unconditional love, you will appreciate and love the ego, your ego.

Your ego is that part of the energy of your higher self focused in this time-space reality, the third dimension. And because it is so strongly focused it has a narrow-minded perspective in comparison to our true self. It represents the anger and fear we feel feel, our survival instinct, or in other words: the desire to stay focused. If you keep bashing it and blaming it for everything you define as evil its anger and fear will only grow stronger. But when you appreciate your ego (your shadows), cherish it, talk to it from the perspective of higher self it will relax and you will experience a lot more joy in your life.

Have fun and love your ego. It’s the very reason why you are here in this time-space reality, the third dimension.

Swamped with work

I haven’t posted for 2 days now, but the great thing is that I do not have to apologize to anybody. I was swamped with work, and the couple of hours I could relax, I chose to do so. I did write a lot during my absence. It was all work related. I am currently working on two big projects one which is reaching go-live date. And many of us know what that means…

I have been on many projects and I know the drill. But I do experience them today with a different state of mind. I’ve grown. In working experience, skills (just repeating it often enough to know what comes next), but I consider my biggest growth to be spiritual. Not in the sense that I am floating between the stars all day, but I am way more relaxed. Even when shit hits the fan, I take the perspective of “what does this teaches me…about me!?”. It is pure selfish behavior, and I like it. More people should do it. First attend to yourself, and when you feel good about yourself let’s meet. You might actually have something to ‘give’ me.

As I wrote earlier I am more and more an observer. I try to observe with appreciation, which empowers me to see the bigger picture. This helps me when the pressure is on, and I deliberately do not join the blame game. With a more clear mind I see opportunities and it enables me to be more productive. But I am not in that appreciative state of mind all the time. At times, I also lose the connection with me, and I fall down the rabbit hole of frustration. But more and more I can step back and observe myself and ask “what does this teaches me…about me!?”.

Why talk when nobody listens?

Today I was playing the observer in an otherwise useless meeting. Not so much useless because of the topics discussed, but because of the attitude – state of mind – people were in.

After about 5 minutes I looked at everybody in the meeting one by one, and they were all withdrawn in their own little – or big – world. The movement of lips did produce sound waves travelling across the room, but they never reached their destination. Not because they did not reach the physical point in space where they could be translated to meaningful brain waves, but because the door to the brain was closed.

As the observer I was fully receiving any wave pattern send out by the others. My brain translated them into meaningful words and body language. It was the world upside down. The so-called listeners did the talking, not speaking any word, not hearing any words. The body language did all the talking. The one speaking did not pay attention if his words were received and to the body language that was spoken. Useless communication. But not for the observer. Not for me.

As the meeting progressed and the agenda items passed by the only thing which was actually moving was time. The speakers started to turn their attention to me, hoping to find acknowledgement for what they were saying. They hit a dead end. I was the observer and I was not tempted to give them a sign of approval. I just looked. Observed. Solely enjoying the experience.

As the meeting came to an end, it was as they ran out of words. Some opened their mouth to say something, but decided it was of no use. There were plenty of opportunities to reply verbally with some meaningful comments, but I chose not to.

What is the use of talking when nobody listens.

My work is done

I grew up near the coast. The sand dunes, beach and sea were only 10 minutes away from home. It’s true that you appreciate those things more and more when they are not so close anymore. I was able to jump on my bike and ride to the beach for no apparent reason other then pure joy and experience the mighty and powerful sea banging into the wet sand trying to win back the lost grounds. The ever present wind clearing my worried mind and the salty smell clearing my nostrils.

I visited my parents today with my two sons and daughter. It was my father’s birthday yesterday, so it was a great excuse for the two hours drive with all of them in the car asking continuously how long it would take before we arrived. I didn’t pay much attention to it and replied with vague answers like “very, very long” or “almost there”. My mind already was at the beach, breathing in the fresh air and listening to the hypnotic sound of waves crashing onto the sand.

With all the formalities done, we headed out for the beach. From the parking place to the beach we had to cross the sand dunes. It is a beautiful moment to get the first glimpse of the sea when arriving at the top of the sand dunes. The look on their faces, priceless. Their eyes sparkle at that first glimpse increasing their pace as the irresistible call of the sea pulls them towards it.

My work is done here. I have given them this memory which will stay with them for the rest of their lives. They will pass it on to their children and experience the sparkles I have seen.

Today, I have seen a glimpse of unconditional love.

I am God

When man started to talk about God in the third person – I do not know if man ever did otherwise -, the connection with the higher Self was lost and the knowing that man is the creator of it’s own life turned to a suffocating believe system that their is a master of puppets controlling every bit of their life.

You can get on your knees and beg the big master not to cut your string, but there is no guarantee. He has a masterplan, and if you play by his rules you can play a glorious part filled with abundance and happiness. But if you are a sinner…

We are living in an era were we are changing our perspective from third person to the drivers seat. “I am God”. Doesn’t that feel great? Yes, it does! No, you don’t get to be the master of puppets as you do not control anyone but yourself. But isn’t that what the drivers seat is all about? You can not control the way other people are driving. But you can make driving a really pleasant experience by relaxing and enjoying the journey not rushing your way to whatever goal you have set. It’s a never ending journey, and if you think you have reached you goal, you already enter the next in your navigation system.

I really like the analogy with the navigation system. We all innately know were we want to go in relation to any subject our attention is focused upon. It is entered in our system. Our emotions will tell us at any point in time where we are in relationship to where we want to be. As long as we listen, we will be heading in the right direction. But when we don’t, we get lost.
