In 1992 I started as a student at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. During the following 5 years I studied molecular microbiology with a primary focus on cell membranes. I found the wonders of life in the micro world, on the level of DNA, RNA and proteins. The perfect balance of these building blocks of life was and is still amazing.
At that time I was more a scientific person. First proof it, and then I’ll believe it. But this was not satisfying for me, and I was left behind with questions of how all of this comes together to what we know as life.
